Look Out! It’s Contagious!!!

“Courage is Contagious.  When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened.”      –  Billy Graham

What a great statement by a great follower of Christ.  How true!  Do you ever notice when someone takes a stand that everyone seems to get a little more bold?  All it takes is a leader.  It requires risk and trust in God to have this kind of courage.  I’ve found that it’s natural to be afraid of situations, but when I know I should be the one to stand up and fail to do so, I am not exhibiting courage, faith or trust in God.  God doesn’t mind us being afraid, but he wants us to have courage.

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your GOD will be with you wherever you go.”        Joshua 1:9

Now that’s some good news.  Let’s be bold and willing to approach our fears with the confidence and knowlege that regardless of the result God goes with us.

  1. if He goes with us, count me in. making sure we’re on the same path with Him is key. if we join what He is all about, it will be blessed. see Bono!

  2. Our courage pales in the example we have been given in scripture. But, if in His likeness, we have the same things to look forward to. As James put it, ” Consider it a blessing my brothers……”. In my experience of being courageous and “outspoken” when trying to carry a message, people usually back up first, then follow. Only if they think they are hopeless. Because it’s only when an individual thinks they are hopeless, that they will do what it takes to overcome there hopelessness.

  3. here’s my q’s when it comes to courage:

    What’s holding you back?
What’s keeping you from moving forward?
Maybe God wants you to be in a place where you must rely on Him.

i’d rather rely on Him than anyone or anything,
