Daydreaming vs. The DREAM

ga-baseball.jpg

I told my son, Michael, the other day that when it comes to keeping your DREAM healthy, sometimes you have to lay aside the daydream and do the work that it takes to make the DREAM come true. The daydream has less value than the DREAM.

For instance if your DREAM is to become a great college athlete, you can’t daydream about it to the point that you neglect your education.  If you neglect your education then you will not be allowed to participate in the collegiate athletics.  Therefore, know when to turn off the daydream for the sake of the DREAM and turn all priorities to keeping the DREAM healthy.

Michael looked stunned and honestly, so was I by what I had just said.  I learned as much as he did after repeating this to myself.  Thank you God for teaching me and my family how to lay aside the daydream for your DREAM that’s in us.
